In Kyrgyzstan, artists and bloggers have called on the population to remain vigilant to avoid falling into the traps set by cybercriminals.

According to their statements, every day in Bishkek, between 20 to 30 people become victims of internet fraud. The appeal emphasizes that cybercrimes not only result in financial losses but also threaten family budgets, parents' pension savings, and the future of children.

Celebrities highlighted three key factors contributing to the increase in fraud cases. First, the sale of bank and SIM cards by young people. Second, citizens clicking on suspicious links. Third, the desire to make quick money and invest in dubious projects.

Citizens were also warned about the most common tactics used by fraudsters. Criminals call, posing as bank or law enforcement officials, scare victims with threats of losing money, and demand that they transfer funds "for verification." The appeal emphasizes that real government officials never request money transfers over the phone. In case of receiving such calls, citizens are urged to immediately hang up and contact the police at 102.

Particular attention is given to the youth. Citizens are reminded that sharing their bank cards with third parties can lead to liability, as it makes them accomplices to a crime. Loans can be taken out on such cards, and illegal financial transactions can be conducted, which carries legal consequences under Kyrgyz law.
