Citizens are strongly advised not to disclose their personal data to third parties, including bank card details, PIN codes, passwords, and SMS confirmation codes under any circumstances. Additionally, residents are urged to avoid clicking on suspicious links, especially those received via messengers such as WhatsApp, and not to enter personal information into them.
Particular attention was paid to so-called "droppers" — individuals who pass their bank details or personal information to others. The Internal Affairs Department emphasized that such actions may lead to criminal liability.
The police also advise against responding to video calls and audio calls from unknown contacts in messengers, including WhatsApp. One should not trust messages that supposedly relate to "account verification" or "code confirmation."
Law enforcement officials emphasize that ignoring communication with unfamiliar individuals and adhering to simple digital security rules can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
