Tragedy in Sokuluk: one of the drowned children died on his birthday
Neighbors reported that the deceased children were close relatives: one was the son of an uncle, another was the son of an aunt, and the third was the child of a godparent. One of them, Nurislam, was the oldest among them. Unfortunately, he died on the day of his fourth birthday, February 2.
At the time of the incident, his father was in Sokuluk with his younger son, buying a gift for Nurislam.
According to local residents' testimonies, the children left their grandfather's house in search of relatives living nearby. On their way, they likely noticed the ice on the pond and began to play. The pond, which receives water from an irrigation channel, is about one and a half meters deep; however, its banks are not fenced, creating a danger.
Villagers note that this body of water is located on the outskirts of the village and lacks protective barriers, making it particularly hazardous for small children.
