According to medical staff, the girl, identified by the initials T.S.A., born in 2024, swallowed a foreign object on the night of February 1. Her parents, mistaking it for a coin, sought help only around 11:00 AM on February 2.
During the gastroscopy, doctors found that a large battery was lodged at the junction of the throat and esophagus. The operation to remove it was conducted in collaboration with ENT specialists and was successful.

However, after examination, serious complications were identified: the girl was diagnosed with a deep chemical burn of II–III degree on both sides of the esophagus. This is a typical consequence of tissue contact with batteries, which can cause an immediate chemical reaction and lead to severe damage.
At present, the girl is receiving the necessary medical care, and her condition is under the control of doctors. Specialists remind parents that in the case of swallowing batteries, time is critical, and immediate medical assistance is essential.
It was previously reported that in January, 17 magnets from a toy were urgently removed from a two-year-old child at the Osh Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, further highlighting the dangers associated with swallowing foreign objects.
