According to information from the city hall, work has been initiated to ensure the implementation of the Constitutional Law "On the State Language of the Kyrgyz Republic." The aim of these activities is not only to increase the use of the state language in everyday life but also to further develop the language policy in the city. This work is being carried out by a working group composed of employees from the Tokmok city hall and its departments.
During the activities, the owners of several establishments operating in the service, trade, and catering sectors were informed about the requirements of Articles 26 and 31 of the aforementioned law. In particular, it was pointed out that advertisements, signs, and informational plaques, as well as the names of institutions, must be formatted according to the established procedure: first in the state language, and then in the official language. The owners were notified of the necessity to comply with these requirements.
After the established deadline, an inspection will be conducted to check for the elimination of identified violations and compliance with the issued warnings.
