In Bishkek, a blackmailer was detained for demanding a debt "for a girl"
A man suspected of extortion has been detained in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. This was reported by the Main Internal Affairs Department (GUVP).
According to law enforcement agencies, on January 19, 2026, a citizen named B.D. approached the Oktobersky District Internal Affairs Department. He filed a written complaint requesting action against unknown individuals who threatened him and demanded 150,000 rubles, citing a non-existent debt of his girlfriend.
Based on this complaint, the Investigative Service of the Oktobersky Internal Affairs Department initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning extortion.
As a result of operational investigative measures, the suspect was identified — a citizen named Ch.T., born in 1994. He was detained at the moment he received 80,000 soms, which he extorted from the victim.
After his detention, Ch.T. was taken to the investigative department of the Oktobersky Internal Affairs Department and, in accordance with the provisions of article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, was placed in the temporary detention facility of the GUVP.
Currently, comprehensive investigative actions regarding this case are ongoing.
