According to available information, the schoolboy was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when the green traffic light was on. At that moment, a Hyundai Sonata sped by, ignoring the red light, and struck the boy.
Despite the injuries sustained, the child survived; however, the taxi driver left the scene of the accident without waiting for help.
Law enforcement agencies are currently working to identify the driver, analyzing footage from surveillance cameras and clarifying all the details of the incident.
