The ignition of the reeds occurred east of the village of Kara-Talaa, which is part of the Ula-Khol rural district.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Issyk-Kul region, the incident took place in the territory of the "Ak-Bulun" nature reserve. At 17:24, one fire truck from the fire and rescue unit No. 19 of the city of Balykchy was dispatched to extinguish the fire.
The fire was brought under control by 21:30, and complete extinguishment was finished by 24:05.
Six representatives of the village administration, three forestry workers, three police officers, about 20 local residents, and five employees of the district emergency department participated in the firefighting operation.
