According to the agency, inspectors found about 13,000 units of products that were offered for sale without the necessary excise stamps.
Relevant protocols were drawn up on-site, and the materials were handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and legal assessment.
The Tax Service noted that legislation establishes strict liability measures for the sale of unmarked excise goods:
- for the sale of up to 200 units — a fine of 100,000 soms;
- for the sale of more than 200 units — possible punishment of up to seven years in prison.
Entrepreneurs are advised to closely monitor the presence and authenticity of labeling, while citizens are encouraged to check the excise stamps on purchased alcoholic products.
For convenience, the Salyk.kg mobile application offers a service for scanning and manually entering excise stamps. It is also possible to check the digital labeling of alcohol and tobacco in Data Matrix format through the Teksher application.
