Timchenko noted that the damage has affected key facilities in the energy sector, including power plants, as well as gas transportation and extraction capacities. As a result of the attacks, DTEK has lost between 60 to 70 percent of its generation capacity, leading to losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
According to the CEO, the most severe consequences are observed in Kyiv and the central regions of the country.
During power outages, residents have access to electricity for only 3-4 hours a day, while the remaining 10-15 hours they are left without light. Some homes have already been without heating for several weeks, as Timchenko reported.
Moreover, the situation is exacerbated by severe frosts: over the past two weeks, temperatures in the country have ranged from -15 to -20 degrees.
