According to Burkhanov, the incident took place in April 2025, and all eight defendants were found guilty of their actions.

The official statement emphasizes that Uzbek authorities and diplomatic representatives are working to thoroughly investigate the situation and protect the rights of their citizens.

The event occurred at a gas station, and according to data from UAE law enforcement, two citizens of Uzbekistan died as a result of the brawl: one died on the spot from a stab wound, while the other fell into a coma and died in the hospital.

Uzbek diplomats previously held a meeting with representatives of the Dubai Criminal Investigation Department to discuss the issues that arose.

The UAE authorities noted that the increasing cases of offenses involving Uzbek citizens could negatively impact the visa-free regime currently in place between the two countries.
