According to the agency, almost all accidents happened because the vehicles were equipped with summer tires. For this reason, inspectors strongly recommend that drivers switch to winter tires.
“On January 22, snow fell in the region, making the roads slippery. In just one night, inspectors recorded four accidents, resulting in seven people being injured. We once again urge drivers: take care of yourselves — change your tires and try to avoid long trips unless absolutely necessary,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned that from January 21 to 24, precipitation is possible in mountainous areas, which may lead to avalanches, snowdrifts, as well as ice and freezing conditions on roads.
