The accused fully admitted his guilt in committing the terrorist act that led to the death of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the troops for radiation, chemical, and biological protection.

Additionally, he was fined one million rubles.

Other participants in this case received various prison terms, up to 25 years. For instance, Azerbaijani native Robert Safaryan, who facilitated the delivery of explosives, was sentenced to 25 years in a strict regime, with the first nine years to be spent in prison. Batukhan Tochiev and Ramazan Padiyev from Ingushetia, who provided accommodation for the executor, received sentences of 22 and 18 years respectively, with the first eight and six years in prison, as well as a fine of 200,000 rubles.

The investigation established that Kurbonov, who has little command of the Russian language, began his journey from Tashkent, then traveled to Baku and Astana before arriving in Moscow. In the capital, he received an additional 431,000 rubles through a crypto ATM, bringing the total to about 842,000 rubles for preparing the terrorist act, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia.

It is worth noting that on December 17, 2024, an explosive device disguised in a scooter was detonated on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow near the entrance of a residential building. As a result of the explosion, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his driver were killed.
