A resident of the capital, Habibi Ulanova, previously appealed to law enforcement with a request to investigate the actions of Mirbek Miyarov, who previously held the position of the government’s authorized representative in the Chui region. Based on her statement, a criminal case was initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning bigamy and polygamy.
At a press conference at AKIpress, Ulanova stated that she was Miyarov's common-law wife and that they have a son together who requires medical assistance. She accused the former official of not providing the necessary support for their child.
In response to these accusations, Aysuluu Altymysheva, Miyarov's official wife, spoke at the press conference. She noted that they have had five children during their 18 years of marriage and refuted Ulanova's claims, adding that they do provide assistance to Miyarov's son.
