The owner of a pawnshop chain in Bishkek organized schemes to seize property from clients.

He registered real estate in the names of trusted individuals

The State National Security Service of Kyrgyzstan (GKNB) has detained S.M.A., the owner of a chain of pawnshops operating in Bishkek. This was reported by the press center of the agency.

According to the security service, the businessman exploited his position to profit from citizens in difficult financial situations. He provided loans under terms that were unfavorable for clients, charging high interest rates, which ultimately made it impossible for them to repay their debts.

Considering the dependency of his clients, S.M.A. developed schemes that allowed him to seize both movable and immovable property from people. In the process, he took over residential spaces, land plots, and commercial properties. With the help of affiliated notaries and other front individuals, the businessman registered the property in the names of people close to him. When necessary, he also used threats and pressure on citizens to achieve his goals.

As a result of the evidence collected in the criminal case, S.M.A. was taken into custody and placed in the GKNB detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
