Kudretu Taychabarov's detention in a pre-trial facility extended in the case of participation in an organized group

Kudret Taychabarov, the former director of the Bishkek Free Economic Zone, will remain in custody at the pre-trial detention center SIZO-1 until February 8, 2026. This information was provided by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, which extended his preventive measure.

He has been charged under part 2 of Article 261 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan for "Creating or participating in an organized group."

The criminal case was initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs after a registration refusal, which led to Taychabarov's detention. This occurred after he released a video criticizing the decision of the Central Election Commission and mentioning the country's president. In response, the head of the president's information policy service, Dairbek Orunbekov, stated that the state would take measures against anyone involved in illegal activities, regardless of their political connections.

It is also worth noting that Kudret Taychabarov is the brother of Azamat Maripov, who is also under arrest, and the former advisor to President Sadyr Japarov, Adinai Maripova.
