In Talas, a man died after being struck on the head with a stick. A suspect has been detained.
As reported by the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate, on the night of January 11, 2026, a phone call was received at the Talas District Police Department from the Talas Regional Combined Hospital, stating that an unknown man had been brought to the medical facility in serious condition by an ambulance crew.
On the same day, a resident of the Talas district, E.S., filed a complaint with the Talas District Police Department, reporting the death of his father — E.Z., born in 1968, and requested that the responsible party be identified and legal measures be taken. The complaint was registered in the electronic log of information at the Talas District Police Department, after which a preliminary investigation was initiated.
As a result of operational-search activities, officers of the Talas District Police Department detained the suspect — T.B., a resident of the Talas district, born in 1977. According to preliminary data, the suspect was drinking alcoholic beverages with the deceased at his home. During a conflict that arose, while in a state of intoxication, he struck E.Z. on the head with a stick.
The victim died in the hospital, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
In connection with this incident, the Talas District Police Department has initiated a criminal case against the suspect T.B. under Article 130, Part 3, Clause 1 ("Causing serious harm to health"). He has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, investigative actions are being conducted.
