Unknown individuals promised a woman an apartment through WhatsApp and received $50,000, but she was deceived.

In Bishkek, an investigation is underway into a large-scale internet fraud, reports the press service of the city's Main Internal Affairs Department.

On November 12, 2025, a woman who became a victim of fraudsters approached the First May District Internal Affairs Department. According to her, on November 5 of the same year, unknown individuals promised her an apartment via WhatsApp and took possession of 49,900 US dollars. The money was transferred to seven different bank accounts, after which the woman realized she had fallen victim to a scam.

In connection with this incident, the investigative authorities opened a criminal case under Article 209, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the intentional transfer or sale of electronic payment means, virtual assets, and SIM cards to third parties.

During the investigation, it was established that the victim made transfers through payment terminals of one of the banks, totaling 3,655,000 soms.

Investigative actions are aimed at identifying the owners of the bank accounts, as well as tracing the money flows. In particular, work is being done to collect information about bank transfers and personal data of the owners of the specified accounts.

As part of the investigation, one of the recipients of the funds was identified — A.B., born in 2007. His bank card received 200,000 soms. The young man was detained for necessary procedural actions and then placed in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, police officers continue to conduct operational search activities and technical actions aimed at gathering additional evidence and clarifying other circumstances related to this crime.
