In Chui Region, a "Mercedes-Benz" driver drove for a year with someone else's license plates and received a fine of 45,500 soms.
It became known that on January 9, 2026, at around 1:00 PM, at the 61st kilometer of the Bishkek – Osh highway, officers from the Traffic Police of the Jayil District stopped a yellow "Mercedes-Benz 711" for inspection. During the check, it was revealed that the driver was using a license plate from a similar vehicle, but of a white color, and had been driving his car with someone else's license plates for an entire year.
The driver was issued protocols under articles 449-1 (Use of a counterfeit state registration number plate of a vehicle) and 38 (Disqualification from driving a vehicle) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, which resulted in a fine of 20,000 soms. Additionally, as part of the "Kooopsuz ülko" ("Safe Country") project, he was found guilty of 19 traffic violations, for which he also accumulated fines totaling 25,500 soms that had not been paid.
Thus, the total amount of fines for the driver amounted to 45,500 soms. Furthermore, his vehicle was placed in a towing lot.
