Fire in the Nursing Home. The Situation Commented on by the Bishkek City Hall

In Bishkek, a fire broke out in one of the palliative care departments of the Nursing Home; however, the institution itself was not damaged. This was reported by the city's vice-mayor, Victoria Mozgacheva.

According to Mozgacheva, there are currently 220 people in the Nursing Home, and all of them are safe, so the issue of evacuating the residents is not on the table.

There were 13 people in the men's palliative care department, of whom two died. The other 11 patients were evacuated to another department and then hospitalized to rule out possible carbon monoxide poisoning. If the patients' condition stabilizes, they plan to return them the next day, the vice-mayor added.

Victoria Mozgacheva also noted that fire safety drills involving the Ministry of Emergency Situations were conducted at the institution in July of last year, and no violations were found during these events. Currently, specialists will investigate the causes of the incident in the ward.

According to the vice-mayor, the major renovation of the main three-story building of the Nursing Home was completed in 2025.
