An incident occurred at one of the largest hotels in Karakol: a yurt caught fire. A recording from the scene quickly spread on social media.

This case was confirmed by the regional emergency service.

According to the information provided, on January 4, 2026, at 09:56, a report of a fire in the yurt of the "Karagat" hotel, located on J. Abdrakhmanov Street, was received by the duty officer of the Karakol City Department for Emergency Situations.

At 09:57, one firefighting crew from the Karakol City Fire and Rescue Unit No. 15 was dispatched to combat the fire, arriving at the scene at 10:02. The fire was localized by 10:06, and complete extinguishment was finished by 10:19. The firefighters returned to their unit at 11:38.

Unfortunately, as a result of the fire, the yurt with a metal frame was completely destroyed along with its interior contents.
