Nicolas Maduro was brought to court in New York

Nicolás Maduro has been brought to a federal court in New York, where he will officially face charges. Fox News shared footage from the scene.

The hearing, during which the charges will be announced, is scheduled for midnight Bishkek time. Maduro faces four main charges: conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, illegal possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess such devices.

Maduro's wife, Cilia Flores, has also been arrested and will appear in court. She is charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and illegal possession of firearms.

At the first hearing, the court will provide the defendants with an opportunity to express their position. After that, the judge will set the date for the next hearing and consider the issue of pre-trial detention before the main proceedings begin.
