52 thousand roses from Kyrgyzstan were not allowed into Russia
In the Chelyabinsk region of Russia, an attempt to illegally import more than 52,000 rose seedlings was thwarted. The cargo was detained at the "Bugristoe" checkpoint thanks to the joint efforts of the Rosselkhoznadzor and customs officials.
This batch, weighing 9.3 tons, although it was coming from Kyrgyzstan, had Uzbek origins. During the inspection, it was found that the packaging only indicated the country of origin, without information about the specific place of growth and phytosanitary conditions, which is a violation.
According to the press, the agency noted that plants without proper labeling cannot be allowed into the territory of Russia. As a result, all 52,600 rose cuttings were returned to the country of origin under the supervision of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
