President: We are proud that Nowruz has become a truly nationwide holiday in Kyrgyzstan

On March 21, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, attended the celebration of Nowruz, which took place in the central square of the city of Naryn.

Here are the main points from his congratulatory message (free translation):

“Dear citizens of Kyrgyzstan!

Esteemed compatriots, whose honor is equal to the greatness of the heavenly peaks of Tеңир-Тоо!

With the arrival of the spring equinox comes the long-awaited spring, when nature awakens and life begins anew.

We joyfully celebrate Nowruz, continuing the traditions of our ancestors. This holiday symbolizes renewal, hope, labor, and unity - an invaluable cultural heritage that unites humanity in peace and prosperity.

As our great akyn Arstanbek Ata wisely noted:

“Even if the sun knows you, even if you reach for the stars - without the people, you are nothing.”

We have established a tradition of celebrating state holidays together with the people in various regions of the country.

This year, we celebrate Nowruz in Naryn, at the foot of the sacred mountain Ala-Myshyk, on the banks of the Naryn River - an important artery of Central Asia.

Today, being in this blessed land, full of the aromas of kumys and pristine glaciers, I wish all Kyrgyz citizens peace, prosperity, abundance, and unity. I congratulate all Kyrgyz citizens and our compatriots abroad, as well as diplomats and representatives of international organizations on the holiday of Nowruz!

Happy holiday to you, dear Kyrgyz citizens!

Dear compatriots!

Since ancient times, this sacred land of Tеңир-Тоо has had special strategic significance.

Located on the Great Silk Road, the Naryn region connects the East and the West, serving as a crossroads of cultures of many peoples and possessing a rich history.

This is confirmed by monuments such as the Teke-Sekirik cave, the ruins of the city of Koshoy-Korgon, and other historical sites.

Speaking of this land, whose past and future are full of opportunities, one cannot fail to mention the outstanding individuals born here - a people whose pride is as great as its mountains.

Here were born Koshoy Baba, great manaschy, and statesmen who preserved and developed our cultural heritage.

As the scholar Sovetbek Baigaziev rightly noted, these people are the “spiritual peaks” of our nation.

I believe that this blessed land will continue to nurture creators capable of contributing to the revival of the Kyrgyz Renaissance.

In the context of globalization, the people of Naryn, possessing talents, can significantly influence the development of the country.

Dear compatriots!

Allow me to briefly summarize the last five years: Kyrgyzstan has achieved stability and development, and the Naryn region has also made significant progress.

If in 2020 the gross regional product of the region was 18 billion soms, by 2025 it will grow to 40 billion soms, which is more than a twofold increase.

The volume of industrial production has increased 5.7 times over five years. In 2021, 30 enterprises were opened, and by 2025 their number has increased to 134, creating hundreds of new jobs.

Currently, projects are being implemented in the region in construction, road infrastructure, and clean water supply totaling 21 billion soms.

In the construction sector, 143 facilities are currently being built.

Over the past five years, 51 social facilities have been commissioned, including schools and hospitals.

In the Naryn region, 259 kilometers of roads have been paved, of which 135 kilometers are planned for 2025, including the renovation of the central street of the city of Naryn.

Since 2022, 0.6 percent of the gross profit from the Kumtor gold mine has been directed to the Tеңир-Тоо Development Fund.

About 2 billion soms have already been collected in the fund for the implementation of social and infrastructure projects in the Naryn region.

The fund also finances the construction of mortgage housing in Naryn.

The main part of the housing financing comes from the republican budget.

Last year, with my participation, the Naryn airport was opened with regular flights twice a week.

The Naryn bus station has been completely renovated.

From the stabilization fund of the region, 2 billion 382 million soms have been allocated for the construction of a modern cultural center.

In the last five years, 6 billion 800 million soms of foreign investments have been attracted to the region.

Tеңир-Тоо is a region with high energy potential.

Nature has endowed us with the Naryn River, opening up opportunities for energy development.

Currently, the Kulanak hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 100 megawatts is under construction, which will ensure the energy security of the region and create additional capacities.

The investor has also begun construction of the Kara-Kechinskaya thermal power station with a capacity of 1200 MW.

The completion of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will create new transit opportunities for the region and enhance its international significance.

The economic and logistical potential of the Naryn region and the entire republic will increase.

After the project is put into operation, the delivery time for goods will be reduced, opening up new markets.

Today, being between Europe and China, we still remain a closed country, but the completion of the railway construction will make us a transit center.

The construction of the road is planned to be completed by 2030.

The creation of trade and logistics centers along the railway is a necessary step for infrastructure development.

The internal railway connecting the north and south has already reached Kochkor.

If favorable conditions arise, it is planned to extend it to Kara-Keche and Makmal, providing additional connections between the north and south.

The development of railway infrastructure will strengthen internal connections and positively impact the growth of other sectors - industry, agriculture, and tourism.

Therefore, there are every reason to speak of a bright future for the strategically important region of Tеңир-Тоо.

We continue to work on the development of the region's economy, opening up production, improving infrastructure, and creating comfortable living conditions for people, and these efforts are yielding results, as you can see for yourselves.

Dear compatriots!

The Naryn region, known for its livestock and agriculture, requires special attention.

Animal husbandry, including meat and milk production, is the backbone of the region's economy.

Fortunately, in recent years, the livestock population has increased, and production volumes have risen.

Projects are being implemented in the region to create clusters in meat, milk, and other product production totaling about 2 billion soms.

Naryn honey is exported to Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Japan.

Despite the availability of water resources, irrigation problems persisted.

Over the past five years, about 3 billion soms have been spent on irrigation.

Repairs and concreting of canals, as well as the restoration of hydraulic structures and pumping stations, have been completed.

This year, it is planned to put into operation the Tügöl-Sai reservoir in Jumgal and the BDR Shamsy in Kochkor.

This will improve water supply to 4294 hectares of land and develop 3306 hectares of new irrigated areas.

In such conditions, Naryn needs qualified specialists.

The older generation remembers how in the 1960s-1980s the state sent Korchubek Aknazaro to lead complex areas, which contributed to the development of agriculture.

The state is ready to support those who can develop agriculture in a challenging region.

Our goal is to turn this mountainous region into a powerful agro-industrial center and expand its export potential.

We have already accomplished much, but there is still a lot of work ahead.

I am well aware of the problems in the Naryn region.

The authorized representative of the region conveys your questions to me.

However, it is impossible to solve all problems at once.

Nevertheless, we are gradually addressing priority issues.

With God's help, through our joint efforts, we will make Naryn a region with new transit connections on the Great Silk Road, with a developed network of trade and logistics centers and environmentally friendly products.

This will be a significant contribution to the future of Kyrgyzstan.

Dear compatriots!

Against the backdrop of global events, stability has been ensured in Kyrgyzstan, borders have been settled, and the country is confidently moving forward.

Our people have supported this course and are actively participating in the construction of a New Kyrgyzstan.

The key to success lies in unity, harmony, and stability.

To transform Kyrgyzstan into a strong state, it is necessary to change our mindset, be patriots, and actively work on the economy.

The GDP growth rate has reached 11%, and the budget has amounted to 1.1 trillion soms.

We have started the construction of another 100 manufacturing enterprises to maintain this pace and provide the population with jobs.

You can also see the large-scale construction of housing under the state program.

This year, Kyrgyzstan will host a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Issyk-Kul Forum and the VI World Nomad Games will also take place, attracting the attention of scholars and tourists from all over the world.

On such days, I urge you to actively participate in organizing these international events.

Let Kyrgyzstan once again make a loud statement, demonstrating unity and cohesion.

Dear Kyrgyz citizens!

Since ancient times, the symbol of Nowruz has been sumolok, made from sprouted wheat, symbolizing renewal and new life.

Nowruz is a holiday of development, renewal, and unity.

We are proud that Nowruz has become a nationwide holiday, beloved by all citizens.

In these days, interethnic harmony and mutual respect are especially evident.

On the land of Batken, in the majestic Osh, in the youthful Jalal-Abad, in Talas, where Manas Ata rests, and in Naryn - if we are united, there will be prosperity; if there is harmony, there will be abundance.

Stability has been established in the country, and we are confidently moving forward, returning to our roots.

Now, as the saying goes, “The labor of man elevates,” let us work hard and create.

Each region must contribute to the development of the state.

Our unity and cohesion are our main strength in building a New Kyrgyzstan.

Let us move forward, relying on our solidarity and principles of social justice.

May our kindest wishes come true on this Great day!

May the labor of the fields yield a rich harvest, the knowledge of the youth strengthen, and the doctors heal the sick, serving the people.

May Kyrgyzstan prosper and develop!

Happy Nowruz!”
