During his speech, Ibraev noted that one of the main challenges for the energy transition is the need to ensure the flexibility of the energy system amid the increasing share of renewable energy sources (RES). He emphasized the importance of developing energy storage systems, modernizing grid infrastructure, and applying modern balancing methods.
The minister also highlighted the significance of regional integration, which contributes to enhancing the resilience of energy systems, reducing the risks of electricity shortages, and more efficient resource utilization.
“This summit is one of the largest international events in the energy sector, bringing together ministers, leaders of major energy companies, representatives of international organizations, and top-notch experts to discuss current challenges and prospects for the development of the sector,” the press service statement said.
