- The Deputy General Director of "Kyrgyz Komur," Rustam Sadyraliyev, emphasized on the radio that coal exports serve not so much for profit as a means to maintain balance in the domestic market.

Sadyraliyev also noted that the decision regarding the right to export was made by the Cabinet of Ministers separately.

“Coal exports are primarily used to regulate the market, especially in situations where there is a shortage of coal or rising prices in the country,” he added.

The main destinations for exports are Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, with about 80–90% of the coal being sent specifically to Uzbekistan.

Export regulation is carried out through road transport, while railway transportation is not controlled and is conducted directly by private entrepreneurs and coal mining companies based on contracts.

Sadyraliyev also reminded that in October 2025, restrictions on coal exports were introduced due to rising prices and fuel shortages, especially in the southern regions.

“This allowed us to eliminate the coal shortage in the domestic market and reduce prices by half,” he reported.

Additionally, this provided the population of the southern regions with more affordable coal.

In January-February, the export of large fraction coal was again permitted.
