Josep Borrell, the former head of European diplomacy, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the European Union has not taken steps to hold the United States accountable for their actions that violate international law, including the situation in Iran. He also reproached European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for abusing her power and called for a rejection of the trade agreement made with Washington, media reports.

According to Borrell, the actions of the United States against Iran represent "illegal interference from the standpoint of international law" and cannot be justified by threats, as some sources claim.

He also noted that von der Leyen "exceeds her authority" by conducting foreign policy that clearly does not fall within her competence, as stipulated in the EU founding treaty.

Borrell emphasizes that the President of the European Commission demonstrates obvious bias towards the United States and Israel, while Europe faces the consequences in the form of high energy prices. He pointed out that while former U.S. President Donald Trump rejoices in the benefits for his country as an oil exporter, Europe suffers from the negative consequences.

The record of Josep Borrell accusing Ursula von der Leyen of exceeding her authority and supporting the U.S. first appeared in K-News.
