Sadyr Japarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with Samuel Ablaakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana.
During this important dialogue, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation and interaction in various areas of mutual interest, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
Japarov noted that despite the significant geographical distance, Kyrgyzstan is interested in strengthening ties with Ghana in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
The president also emphasized the intensification of efforts to develop partnerships with African countries, reminding that last year Kyrgyzstan opened an embassy in Ethiopia and plans to open a representative office in Egypt in the near future.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan has become an observer in the African Union, which opens new horizons for cooperation, especially in the context of Ghana's upcoming presidency in 2027.
Samuel Ablaakwa conveyed greetings from the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, and invited Japarov to visit the country next year, for the 70th anniversary of Ghana's independence and the upcoming presidency in the African Union.
He also noted the significance of reforms in Kyrgyzstan, including the fight against corruption and the protection of national interests, and highlighted construction, digitalization, tourism, and the agro-industrial complex as key areas for cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, both participants expressed hope that this visit would mark the beginning of a new chapter in the development of mutually beneficial relations.
