The National Historical Museum of Bishkek has opened an exhibition of Chinese painting titled "The Free Flight of the Horse — The Spirit of Chinese Ink Painting." This event is organized in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Center in Bishkek, the China Cultural and Tourism Exchange Center, and several other cultural organizations from China.
Present at the opening ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives from cultural institutions and artists, including numerous guests of the museum.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of the exhibition for the development of cultural interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and China. The horse, as a symbol, was a particular focus, as it embodies strength, freedom, nobility, and the aspiration to move forward in the traditions of both peoples. It was also noted that historically, the horse has played a significant role in strengthening ties between peoples along the Great Silk Road.
The organizers added that the exhibition, taking place in the Year of the Horse according to the Eastern calendar, has additional symbolic significance and reflects the desire to deepen humanitarian and cultural relations between the two countries.
The exhibition features about 50 works by Chinese artists, created in the traditional ink painting technique, encompassing various styles — from realistic to expressive, allowing for a deeper understanding of the philosophy of Eastern artistic tradition.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until March 24.
