The Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, and Energy held a meeting where the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On Electricity'" was reviewed and supported in the second reading. The initiative came from the Cabinet of Ministers.
This draft law aims to create a more favorable environment for the development of renewable energy sources (RES). One of the key points is the increase of the capacity limit for RES facilities from 30 to 50 MW. This measure is aimed at attracting investments and implementing more efficient, sustainable, and modern projects, which aligns with international standards and the strategic goals of the republic in the field of "green" economy and energy security.
