During his working trip to the Manas district, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliyev familiarized himself with the condition of the House of Culture located in the village of Talas.
According to the press service of the parliament, the construction of this facility began in 1985, and a year later, a House of Culture with a capacity of 400 seats was opened. However, in the early 1990s, during the period of gaining independence, the building was privatized, and in 2014 it was returned to the management of the rural administration.
After inspecting the dilapidated building, the speaker instructed the heads of the relevant services to conduct the necessary assessments to determine its suitability for further use.
“If the building is found to be suitable, it is necessary to carry out repairs immediately. Cultural facilities play an important role in the development of culture in rural areas. Paying attention to cultural and educational activities alongside education and healthcare is of paramount importance for the development of society,” emphasized Mamataliyev.
The speaker is in the Talas region on a working trip, accompanied by parliament deputies, as well as representatives of various ministries and local authorities.
