Tough conclusions will follow: The head of the cabinet is dissatisfied with the delay in the construction of the Bishkek City Children's Clinical Hospital
Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, conducted a working trip to medical institutions in Bishkek and the Chui region. The main task of his visit was to inspect the construction process of new buildings and address issues related to the material and technical support of medical facilities.
The first stop of the inspection was the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction, where Kasymaliev was introduced to the project of a new modern building. The head of the government noted that protecting the reproductive health of the population is a strategically important task. Relevant ministries were instructed to urgently complete the design and identify funding sources for the implementation of this project.
Special attention was also given to the Bishkek City Children's Clinical Emergency Hospital. During the inspection, Adylbek Kasymaliev criticized the delays in the construction of a new building, which was supposed to significantly increase the facility's capabilities.
“Delays in healthcare, especially in children's institutions, are unacceptable. This concerns the safety and health of our children. The construction must be completed by June of this year. I will personally come to check the progress. If the deadlines are missed, serious measures will be taken,” emphasized Kasymaliev.
Control over the completion of the construction will be carried out by the Deputy Head of the President's Administration, Azamat Kadyraliev, who has been tasked with ensuring daily monitoring of the work progress.
During the visit to Bishkek City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital No. 2, several systemic problems were identified. Although the construction of several blocks was completed back in 2022, they cannot fully operate due to a lack of medical equipment. The situation has worsened as a result of the transfer of medical institutions from the city's mayor's office to the Ministry of Health.
Kasymaliev instructed the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to promptly prepare proposals for equipping the hospital with the necessary equipment and to complete all work by April of this year. He also noted that he would personally check the implementation of the instructions within the established deadlines.
At the end of his visit, Kasymaliev visited the Chui Regional Unified Hospital named after E. Akramov (ChUOH), which is one of the busiest medical institutions in the region. Here, up to 18,000 patients receive treatment annually, around 6,000 surgical interventions are performed, and up to 6,000 births take place.
The head of the Cabinet instructed the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies to consider the possibility of constructing a new building on the territory of ChUOH to combine all medical services into a modern cluster.
Following the visit, a number of instructions were sent to the relevant agencies and the Bishkek mayor's office to promptly address the identified problems and coordinate efforts to modernize the healthcare system.
