According to information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, drones struck Nakhchivan from Iranian territory.
Earlier, reports of an attack on Nakhchivan airport appeared in the news.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's statement indicated that as a result of the strike, two people were injured.
According to local authorities, the attacks were carried out "around noon" from the Iranian side.
The statement said that "one of the drones fell on the airport terminal," while another "fell near a school in the village of Shekerabad."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic "categorically condemned" these attacks, which resulted in civilian casualties and damage to the airport:
"These actions contradict international law and contribute to rising tensions in the region. We demand that the Islamic Republic of Iran urgently clarify the situation, provide explanations, and take necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of such incidents."
Additionally, Azerbaijan reserves the right to take appropriate retaliatory actions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.

Baku is urgently demanding that Tehran provide explanations "as soon as possible" and prevent similar incidents in the future.
The Guardian notes that there are no U.S. military bases in Azerbaijan, which may indicate that Iran is expanding its strikes on targets not directly related to American troops.
The growing military partnership between Baku and Israel is causing discontent in Tehran, although both countries primarily maintain pragmatic relations, according to the newspaper.
In both countries, the majority of the population is Shia, and Iran is home to a significant number of ethnic Azerbaijanis—estimated to be between 15 to 20 million—many of whom live in the northwestern provinces bordering Azerbaijan.
