During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, the speaker Marlen Mamataliyev commented on issues related to the salaries of deputies.

He noted that in a recent interview with a media outlet regarding the digitalization of parliament, he briefly answered questions about salaries; however, there was some misunderstanding among the public.

“I want to emphasize that, according to the documents I have, the salary of deputies is 58,432 soms, and the deputy fund is 80,000 soms. These funds are used to cover expenses for car repairs, fuel, driver salaries, and interaction with citizens. We also travel to the regions, and the cost of plane tickets is about 10,000 soms. Therefore, sometimes even 80,000 soms is not enough,” added the Speaker.

In addition, Marlen Mamataliyev commented on rumors circulated by some journalists and bloggers about the possible departure of several elected officials from parliament. “I urge not to publish unfounded information. We operate strictly within the framework of the law,” he concluded.
