"Fuel is Transferred or Destroyed": GNS on the Challenges of Fuel Storage
According to Akmatov, storing fuel in private warehouses is impossible. "Fuel can either be transferred to government agencies or destroyed, and this is only possible by court order, which takes a significant amount of time," he added.
He also noted that the process of transferring fuel is not so simple. "We are not allowed to transfer fuel directly to state structures; this must happen through bailiffs, who then transfer it to the State Property Agency. It happens that government agencies are slow to pick up the products, which can delay the entire process for 2-3 months, and sometimes even up to six months, creating additional complications," he explained.
Akmatov emphasized that simplifying the existing procedures could significantly improve the situation. "If the process were simpler, we could quickly activate the fuel and transfer it to the relevant agencies, such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Defense, allowing them to decide how to use the products and under what conditions," he noted.
He added that the service is reaching out to businesses for the provision of tanks for temporary storage, but the permanent use of such tanks is currently not possible.
