In the Cabinet, issues of family, social protection, and children's rights were discussed
During the meeting of the National Council on Family Issues, Gender Development, Social Protection, and Children's Rights, held under the chairmanship of Adylbek Kasymaliev, head of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, current issues related to this area were discussed. This information was provided by the press service of the Cabinet.
The event was attended by the Commissioner for Children's Rights, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, as well as representatives of ministries, agencies, international organizations, and independent experts.
Seven key issues were on the agenda, including:
- the results of monitoring the implementation of the Program for Supporting and Developing Women's Entrepreneurship in the country for the period 2022-2026;
- information on the progress of implementing the Concept of State Policy for Crime Prevention for 2022-2028, including issues of preventing offenses and suicides among children;
- results of monitoring the implementation of the Family Support and Child Protection Program, which has been in effect from 2018 to 2028;
- information on the preparation of the periodic report of the Kyrgyz Republic on the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women;
- discussion of projects related to the interaction of government bodies in protecting children from violence and corporal punishment, as well as providing assistance to affected children;
- implementation of the Action Plan for fulfilling the concluding recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child;
- creating the foundations for monitoring using digital tools within the framework of the action plan for the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
At the end of the meeting, decisions were made on the discussed issues, and instructions were given to government agencies.
In addition, the action plan of the National Council for 2026 concerning family issues, gender development, social protection, and children's rights was approved.
