A verbal spat between two deputies occurred at the meeting in the Housing Committee.
During the meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues of the Jogorku Kenesh, a tense discussion arose between deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu and vice-speaker Meder Aliyev regarding the bill under discussion.
Karybek uulu asked questions about the content of the document, to which Aliyev responded by urging to focus on the main aspects of the bill.
“There is no place for populism in parliament. We need to leave blogging aside. By asking insignificant questions, you should not try to earn 'cheap' points. If you have questions, you can contact us in writing within 10 days after the first reading, according to the regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh. We are open to reaching an agreement,” Aliyev stated.
Karybek uulu, for his part, emphasized that despite his past activity as a blogger, he was elected by the people and has equal rights with other deputies.
“I have the same rights as you do. We should not go beyond decency. I asked questions regarding the justification of the bill and requested attention to the third point,” he replied.
