Tucker Carlson urges the U.S. to tell Israel: "You are not in power"
American journalist and conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has called on the United States to "take control" of Benjamin Netanyahu.
“This is not anti-Semitism; it’s about a head of state whose decisions affect the fates of Americans and relate to global history, as well as the future of the United States,” he noted in his latest podcast on the Tucker Carlson Network.
Carlson emphasized that the United States should tell the Israeli government: “You are not in power.” He added that “no administration has paid such a high price for being subjected to the situation as the current one.”
According to the New York Times, Carlson, an ally of Trump, has opposed military actions and even met with Trump several times at the White House to dissuade him from attacking.
Some American leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, defend Washington's actions, calling them "preventive," despite the controversial statements from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Netanyahu stated: “Donald Trump is the strongest leader in the world who does what he believes is right for America.”
Vice President JD Vance noted in an interview with Fox News that the U.S. does not intend to get involved in a conflict that will drag on for years, adding that the president has a clear goal: to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
“The president has decided that he wants not just to protect the country from Iranian nuclear weapons in the first three to four years of his second term, but to ensure that Iran can never have nuclear weapons, which will require a fundamental change in the thinking of the Iranian regime,” Vance explained.
He noted that this will not last long and said: “Donald Trump will by no means allow this country to get dragged into a years-long conflict… we are not going to get involved in the problems we had in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Vance also added that Iranian nuclear facilities are being built not only for uranium enrichment for civilian purposes, as the regime claims, but also for the development of nuclear weapons.
