Kyrgyzstan does not intend to sue the EU over anti-Russian sanctions – government

Recent comments from the Financial Times have necessitated clarification of the position of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding possible legal actions against the European Union in connection with anti-Russian sanctions.
According to information from the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev, only a hypothetical scenario was discussed, not a real threat of a lawsuit. The authorities of the country emphasize that they do not plan and do not intend to take any legal measures against the EU.
“Our position remains stable and unchanged. The Kyrgyz Republic strictly adheres to its national legislation, international obligations, and norms of international law. All issues related to export control and sanction regimes are resolved within the framework of dialogue and coordination with our international partners,” the Cabinet of Ministers stated.
During the dialogue with EU representatives, emphasis is placed on the transparency of procedures, information exchange, and strengthening existing regulatory mechanisms. The Cabinet emphasizes that legal proceedings are not part of their strategy,” the official statement reads.
The Kyrgyz Republic continues to strive for constructive cooperation with the European Union and the resolution of emerging issues within established legal and diplomatic channels.
The Cabinet of Ministers confirms that the Kyrgyz Republic does not plan and does not intend to file a lawsuit against the EU due to sanctions related to Russia.
