According to information provided by Orda.kz, the detainees were on an international wanted list in connection with a double murder case in the Atyrau region.
The arrest occurred as a result of a thorough operation conducted in Lombok. It is reported that the Kazakhs arrived in Indonesia via Bali, having taken a flight from Kuala Lumpur on December 14, 2025, after which they moved to the island where they hid until their arrest.
Now Indonesian authorities are awaiting an official request from Kazakhstan for the extradition of the detainees so they can stand trial in their homeland.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed that the investigation into the double murder that occurred in November 2025 in the village of Jangel'din in the Atyrau region is ongoing. According to the investigation, this crime was premeditated and committed for mercenary motives.
