As of today, Kyrgyzstan provides for itself 6 out of 9 main socially significant types of food.
During a national meeting at "Yntymak Ordo," President Sadyr Japarov announced Kyrgyzstan's plans in the area of food security. According to him, the country is already fully self-sufficient in six out of nine main types of food, which serves as an important indicator of food resilience and national security. "Previously, a significant portion of these products was imported. We aim to achieve complete self-sufficiency in the remaining three types and to eliminate imports," the president noted.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting at "Yntymak Ordo" was dedicated to the results of the year 2025, attended by President Sadyr Japarov.
Members of the government, heads of state institutions, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims also participated in the event.
