The Prime Minister named which business drives the service sector in Kyrgyzstan
The report on the results of work in the economic and financial sectors for 2025 was presented by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
In his speech, Kasymaliev noted that last year the services sector demonstrated impressive growth — its volume amounted to 1 trillion 11 billion soms, which corresponds to an increase of 10.9%.
This sector holds the second position in growth dynamics after construction, and compared to 2020, the volume of services provided has tripled.
“Sadyr Nurgozhoevich, I would like to highlight two key aspects in the structure of the services sector:
The first — financial services account for 7.1% of GDP, and banking assets exceeded 1 trillion soms, while the loan portfolio increased by 48.8%.
The second — wholesale and retail trade, which constitutes 31% of GDP, indicates a move out of the shadow economy and the emergence of official data,” noted Kasymaliev.
Additionally, the Cabinet reminded about the strategic plan, according to which by 2030 the share of the manufacturing sector in the economy should reach 28-30%. This emphasizes the need for Kyrgyzstan to transition from a service-oriented economy to an industrial-agrarian model.
