By the end of 2025, the volume of domestic generation amounted to 15.4 billion kWh with consumption of 19.3 billion kWh, - Cabinet of Ministers
The minister noted that compared to 2024, consumption has increased by 1 billion kWh.
“The resulting deficit of 3.9 billion kWh will be compensated by supplies from neighboring countries. However, it should be emphasized that the electricity shortage in the energy sector is temporary and manageable,” added Akunbekov.
He also clarified that in 2024, electricity generation capacity was increased by 117.8 MW, and in 2025, the growth of installed capacity was ensured through measures such as the replacement of hydro unit No. 3 at the Toktogul HPP and at the Uch-Kurgan HPP.
Additionally, an important achievement of 2025 was the acquisition by energy companies of 215 units of equipment worth 754 million soms, financed from their own funds.
