The deputy reported on the issue of long waiting times for damage assessors in home insurance.
He noted that in the case of vehicles, the assessment can take weeks.
The deputy inquired about the established waiting period for damage assessment in the insurance of residential properties against natural disasters and fires.
The head of the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service, Marat Pirnazarov, reported that the legislation stipulates:
assessors are obligated to carry out their actions no later than 10 days after receiving the application.
He added that the agency is ready to consider the possibility of reducing these timeframes to improve conditions for citizens and expedite the claims payment process.
This issue was raised in the context of discussing the draft Law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (to the Civil Code, Law on Mandatory Insurance of Residential Properties Against Fire and Natural Disasters)," which was presented for its first reading.
