According to him, local agricultural producers are experiencing a significant water deficit for irrigating their lands. He noted that this issue has remained unresolved for many years and suggested considering options for creating a large dam reservoir, an agricultural reservoir, or a full-fledged water storage facility.
This statement was made during the discussion of the candidacy of Erlis Akunbekov for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers — Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The deputy urged the government and the Ministry of Water Resources to expedite the design and financing process for the construction of the reservoir to enable farmers to effectively carry out spring fieldwork and increase yields.
