As of the beginning of 2026, payouts for OSAGO reached 33.5 million soms — 325 car owners received compensation
For illustration, in 2024, only 48 car owners received payouts, with a total amount of 4.3 million soms. Last year, in 2025, 901 insurance cases were recorded, leading to payouts of around 86.5 million soms.
According to Turumbekov, about 74,000 OSAGO policies were issued in 2024, and this figure increased to more than 350,000 in 2025. By the beginning of 2026, approximately 18,000 policies had already been issued.
Turumbekov explained that OSAGO is intended to cover damages that may be caused to third parties as a result of a traffic accident; however, compensation for damages to one's own vehicle under this policy is not provided.
To protect one's own vehicle, voluntary KASKO insurance is offered, with costs starting from 2–2.5% of the market value of the car.
