The National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm" named after T. Okiev is launching an open competition for the best scripts for short and feature films, as well as for documentary films of a popular science nature.
According to information from the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, this creative selection is aimed at creating a thematic plan for 2026-2027 in accordance with presidential decree No. 159 and current regulations.
The competition covers several key areas:
debut films;
art-house (author) films;
historical films;
co-production (joint) projects.
Participation in the script selection is open to legal entities registered in Kyrgyzstan, such as production studios and creative associations. It should be noted that only scripts in the Kyrgyz language, formatted according to the "American" standard, will be accepted.
Scripts will be evaluated based on ten criteria, including originality of the idea, plot structure, character development, artistic level, adherence to language norms, and authorial uniqueness.
The competition period: from February 24, 2026, to July 17, 2026 (until 18:00).
