In India, a mother and her infant were burned, accused of witchcraft

On the night of the incident in the Indian state of Jharkhand, about a dozen people broke into a house where a woman was with her 10-month-old child and burned them alive. The woman was accused of "witchcraft" and allegedly being responsible for the death of a local resident and several animals.
According to BBC reports, this incident occurred in the village of Kudsai, located in the West Singhbhum district. As a result of the attack, the husband of the deceased sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.
Law enforcement authorities have already detained four suspects, while other participants in this horrific act are on the run. In response to the situation, the authorities announced the launch of programs aimed at raising awareness and preventing violence caused by superstitions in rural areas.
According to statistical data, from 2000 to 2016, over 2000 people in India, mostly women, became victims of murders due to accusations of witchcraft.
