On February 19, a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy took place at the National Historical Museum, where the results of activities for the year 2025 were summarized. The event was attended by Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the government press service.
Members of the board of the Ministry of Culture, representatives of the Jogorku Kenesh, as well as the leadership of structural divisions and regional administrations gathered for the meeting.
Speaking to those present, Edil Baisalov noted that culture plays a crucial role in shaping national identity and uniting society.
He stated: “Culture is the foundation of our national identity. Our goal is to actively promote its development, support creative initiatives, and ensure equal access to cultural values for citizens.”
According to the Deputy Chairman, among the priority areas remain assistance to regional cultural initiatives, the development of contemporary art, and the creation of conditions for unlocking the potential of youth.
“Youth is the future of our nation. Government bodies must continue to protect the interests of the new generation and create conditions for their full self-realization,” he emphasized.
Baisalov also highlighted the need for equal access to cultural services for all regions of the country and the active promotion of Kyrgyz historical and cultural heritage on the international stage.
The Ministry has been tasked with accelerating the development of book publishing, modernizing the library network, creating community and coworking centers, as well as building modern cultural centers. Additionally, it is planned to initiate a new international scholarship program for young performers.
In conclusion of his speech, Edil Baisalov expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the planned initiatives and called for a focus on the unconditional fulfillment of the set tasks.
