In Bishkek, the fashion event Marjan de la mode took place, gathering specialists from the worlds of fashion, beauty, and creative industries. Participants included stylists, designers, entrepreneurs, as well as media representatives and fashion enthusiasts—from the show business sector to educational institutions and businesses.
The main guest of the evening, Lilia Rah, is an international stylist, fashion expert, and host of the program "Fashion Verdict." In her speech, she talked about her life journey, experiences, and views on the development of fashion culture in Central Asia.
Lilia shared that her aesthetic preferences and discipline were instilled in her from childhood, thanks to her mother.
“My mom sewed clothes for me, always trying to dress me stylishly. She instilled discipline in me, constantly repeating: ‘Get up—go, act.’ This helped me a lot in life. Even the decoration of our home, tablecloths, linens, embroidery, and lace—all of this influenced my taste and professional activity,” she noted.
Lilia Rah also spoke about her journey from living in a village to collaborating with renowned fashion houses in Paris and participating in international projects. She emphasized that modern fashion should be conscious and intellectual.
“Fashion should be intellectual. Style begins with a conscious choice—you cannot just copy trends,” she stressed.
Discussing the development of the industry in the region, Rah noted that fashion culture plays an important role in shaping national identity and the international image of the country.
“Fashion culture is the face of the nation. Supporting talented designers is an investment in cultural heritage and the reputation of the state,” she stated.
The expert also emphasized the need for systematic education in aesthetics and style:“It is important to introduce style and aesthetics lessons in schools, to develop fashion educational institutions, shaping taste from childhood,” Rah added.
In her view, to create recognizable fashion images in Central Asia, it is necessary to combine national traditions with global fashion trends.
During the event, Sultan Tukeshov, president of the Kyrgyz Society of Plastic Surgery, also spoke about modern trends in aesthetic medicine.
Participants were presented with a fashion show featuring brands such as Dilbar, Luxury, Promond, and other luxury labels. The program included:
- a raffle for blepharoplasty from a plastic surgeon;
- a raffle for six trips to Turkey;
- fashion shows and model walks;
- musical accompaniment and welcome drinks;
- an exquisite buffet;
- gifts from event sponsors.
Marjan de la mode aims to develop the fashion community of Kyrgyzstan, creating a platform for experience exchange and integrating the local fashion industry into the international arena.
